Collapsed Building
In a tragic incident, a two-storey building under construction in the Ada George area of Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State, collapsed on Thursday. The collapse occurred in the early hours of the morning, causing concern among residents.

Eyewitnesses present at the scene attributed the incident to the use of sub-standard materials during the construction process. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties, but three individuals who were trapped in the building sustained injuries and were subsequently rescued.

The collapse of the building has raised questions about the quality and adherence to safety standards in construction projects within the area. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of using appropriate materials and ensuring rigorous adherence to building regulations to prevent such tragedies.

The local authorities and relevant agencies are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the collapse and hold accountable those responsible for any negligence or violation of construction standards.

As of now, the Rivers State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe Koko, has not provided an official statement or response regarding the incident. It is anticipated that the police will collaborate with other relevant agencies to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the collapse and to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
