Kano Governor Submits 19 Commissioner-Nominees for Approval
Governor Abba Yusuf has submitted a list of 19 commissioner-nominees to the Kano State House of Assembly for approval. The nominees include the state deputy governor, Aminu Abdulsalam, and the New Nigerian People's Party (NNPP) chairman, Umar Doguwa.

Other nominees on the list are Abubakar Yusuf, Musa Shanono, Aisha Saji, Ladidi Garko, Yusuf Kofar Mata, Nasiru Sule Garo, and Halilu Dan Tiye. Also included are Ali Makoda, Danjuma Mahmud, Abbas Abbas, Adamu Kibiya, Safiyanu Hamza, Tijjani Auwal, Haruna Dederi, Marwan Ahmed, Digwal Muhammad, and Taju Zaura.

During the plenary session, the house speaker, Jibrin Falgore, read a letter from the governor announcing the commissioner-nominees. He emphasised the importance of the nominees in assisting the governor in implementing his policies and programs for the development of the state as mandated by the constitution.

Deputy speaker Muhammad Butu expressed his support for the confirmation of the nominees, highlighting their role in advancing the state's progress. He urged the nominees to be present for screening before the house on Wednesday, with the exception of the deputy governor who is exempted from the process.

The submission of the commissioner-nominees signifies a significant step in the governance of Kano State, as the assembly plays a crucial role in the approval and confirmation of the governor's nominees. The screening process will ensure that capable individuals are appointed to the respective positions, contributing to the effective implementation of the state's policies and programs.
