He asserted that significant progress has been made under his leadership, improving the situation compared to when he first took charge. Lieutenant General Yahaya, appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari following the tragic demise of Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 other officers in an air crash, previously served as the theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, the counter-insurgency operation in the Northeast.
