NSCDC Deploys 40,000 Personnel Nationwide for Eid Security
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilised a total of 40,000 personnel across the country to provide comprehensive security as Muslims celebrate Eid-El-Fitr.

In a statement issued by the NSCDC Director of Public Relations, Olusola Odumosu, it was revealed that the personnel were deployed to safeguard critical national assets and infrastructure in collaboration with sister agencies.

Under the directive of the NSCDC Commandant General (CG), Ahmed Audi, the deployed personnel have been assigned to strategic locations, including places of worship, recreational centres, markets, shopping malls, motor parks, and other sensitive areas. The CG emphasised the importance of vigilance and sensitivity among the heads of formations to forestall any untoward incidents orchestrated by enemies of the nation.

Addressing the personnel, the CG stressed the need for utmost alertness, stating that no chances would be taken in ensuring the safety and security of the public. He urged all commands to adopt an intelligence-driven approach, proactively gathering credible information about criminal activities to prevent them before they occur. By doing so, the NSCDC aims to crush criminal elements and maintain peace and security during the festive season.

Furthermore, the CG warned zonal commanders to effectively coordinate their respective formations, holding them responsible for any breach of peace within their jurisdictions. He emphasised the engagement of all special forces of the corps to guarantee the safety of citizens during the Sallah celebration. Accountability and responsibility were highlighted as essential principles to uphold.

In his message to Nigerians, the CG called for prayers for the peace, unity, and success of the country under the new administration. He urged NSCDC personnel to collaborate and synergise with other security agencies to effectively combat all forms of criminal activities and ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
