Yvonne Nelson Slams Sarkodie for Abortion Pain Dismissal
Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has responded to rapper Sarkodie's recent statement regarding her abortion, recounting her reaction to his remarks. In her book, Yvonne Nelson revealed that Sarkodie had abandoned her after impregnating her, leading her to make the difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy. The actress shared these details in her memoir, titled 'I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,' which was launched on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

Yvonne Nelson recalled reaching out to Sarkodie, whose real name is Michael Owusu Addo, to discuss their situation. In response, Sarkodie claimed in his latest single, 'Try Me [Raw],' released on Wednesday, that he had asked Yvonne Nelson to keep the pregnancy, even though he wasn't ready to become a father. He raps in the first verse of the song, "Yes, I wasn't ready, but then I told you to keep it. So don't make it seem like I was pushing you for abortion."

However, Yvonne Nelson took to Twitter on Wednesday to express her dissatisfaction with Sarkodie's response. She questioned his choice to use rap to undermine the pain she had experienced and accused him of driving her to have an abortion. In her tweet, she wrote, "In my book, I narrated how you got me pregnant, how you couldn't wait for me to get rid of it. How you DROVE me to have an abortion. As usual, you want to use rap to rubbish a pain a young woman felt. We both have daughters, let's see what life throws at them. #triedyou."

The exchange between Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie has sparked discussions among fans and the public, with many expressing their opinions on social media platforms. The rapper's song and the actress's memoir have brought their personal experiences into the spotlight, shedding light on the complexities of their past relationship and the sensitive topic of abortion.

It remains to be seen how this disagreement will unfold and if further responses or clarifications will be shared by either party. As the conversation continues, it emphasizes the importance of open dialogue and understanding when discussing such personal and sensitive matters.
