Anambra Govt Backs New Police Commissioner in Insecurity Fight

The government of Anambra State has expressed its commitment to providing unwavering support to the new Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, in the ongoing battle against insecurity in the state. Deputy Governor Onyekachukwu Ibezim conveyed this assurance during a meeting with Commissioner Adeoye at the Government House in Awka, the state capital.

Ibezim emphasised that Governor Soludo's administration is dedicated to collaborating with the police and other security agencies to strengthen the state's security apparatus for the benefit of residents. Ensuring the safety of lives and properties is a top priority for the government, and maintaining a positive relationship with the police and other security agencies is crucial to enabling the people of Anambra state to carry out their lawful activities without any form of harassment.

The deputy governor described Commissioner Adeoye as the right person for the position, given his extensive experience heading various units within the Nigeria Police Force. He expressed confidence that under Commissioner Adeoye's leadership, the security network in Anambra state will be enhanced.

In response, Commissioner Adeoye pledged his commitment to selfless service, vowing to leave no stone unturned in the fight against crime and criminality in the state. He affirmed that the state police command, under his watch, will adhere to professional ethics and actively contribute to solving the security challenges faced by the residents.

Commissioner Adeoye recognised the industrious nature of the people of Anambra state and stressed the importance of providing them with a safe and secure environment to thrive. He promised to build upon the achievements of his predecessor and warned against any attempt to disrupt the state's security and peace.

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, expressed gratitude to the state government for its unwavering support in the fight against insecurity. He assured the government and the people of Anambra state that the police command would not falter in its responsibilities. DSP Ikenga encouraged residents to view the police as their allies and urged them to report any suspicious activities or movements for prompt action.

With the government's commitment and the dedicated efforts of the police command, Anambra state aims to create a safer and more secure environment for its residents, fostering peace and enabling socio-economic growth.
