In addition to the released bodies, eight injured passengers have also been discharged and reunited with their families. The medical director mentioned that the relatives of the discharged passengers expressed their desire to take them to the Benin Republic for further medical treatment.
Of the passengers brought to the hospital, 13 were unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival, while 10 others sustained severe injuries. Regrettably, two of the injured victims later succumbed to their injuries. Mr Bakare explained that the relatives from Benin Republic arrived at the hospital to identify their loved ones and subsequently obtained a police report.
They expressed their intention to continue the treatment of the injured passengers in Cotonou, Benin Republic. Additionally, they presented police reports requesting the release of the deceased bodies to conduct burial ceremonies in their home country.
Consequently, the General Hospital Badagry has released a total of eight treated passengers and 15 deceased bodies to their respective relatives. These grieving families have taken the bodies to the Benin Republic for funeral arrangements. The hospital and its staff extend their deepest condolences to the affected families during this difficult time.
