In a statement, Alufohai emphasised the importance of the Youth Parliament and encouraged interested youths to apply. She stated, "This is to inform the general public, especially the youths of Edo State between the ages of 18 and 29 years old, who are interested in applying for the Second Session of the Edo State Youth Parliament, to submit their application letter to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Humanitarian Affairs."
Applicants were instructed to include their Curriculum Vitae (CV), a copy of their Local Government of Origin Certificate, Birth Certificate, Primary School Leaving Certificate, credentials, and an office file with their application.
Alufohai outlined the eligibility criteria, stating that interested youths must possess at least a Senior School Leaving Certificate (SSCE) and should have the ability to read and write in the English Language.
The deadline for submission of applications was set for Friday, July 21, 2023.
