Federal Fire Service Clears Outstanding Arrears
The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has fulfilled its promise to prioritise the welfare of its personnel by paying all outstanding salaries and promotion arrears. According to ACF Abraham Paul, the National Public Relations Officer of the Service, over 2000 personnel benefited from this payment, with arrears covering the period from 2016 to date, ranging from 1 to 5 months and 1 year, respectively.

The Controller General of the Service, Jaji O Abudulganiyu, has been dedicated to improving staff welfare since assuming office. During the celebration of his 100 days in office, Abudulganiyu vowed to settle all pending arrears and enhance the welfare of the Federal Fire Service staff.

The settlement of these outstanding arrears not only provides much-needed financial relief to the affected individuals but also serves as an acknowledgement of their dedicated service to the Federal Fire Service. It signifies the value placed on their efforts by the leadership and reinforces the importance of recognising and rewarding employees for their hard work and commitment.

With this action, the Federal Fire Service demonstrates its commitment to the well-being of its personnel and ensures that their hard work and dedication are duly appreciated. The move is expected to boost the morale of the personnel and further motivate them to carry out their duties diligently.

The payment of the salary and promotion arrears is seen as a positive step towards building a more efficient and motivated workforce within the Service. It is likely to foster a stronger bond between the personnel and the leadership, creating a conducive working environment.

In addition to improving staff welfare, the Controller General's commitment to settling pending arrears also reflects positively on the overall image of the Federal Fire Service. Such actions can bolster public trust and confidence in the organisation's ability to effectively carry out its mandate of protecting lives and property.

As the Service continues to prioritise the welfare of its personnel, it is hoped that this positive momentum will be sustained. The timely payment of salaries and arrears contributes to a stable and motivated workforce, which, in turn, can lead to improved performance and service delivery.

The Federal Fire Service's dedication to enhancing staff welfare should serve as an example for other government agencies and institutions. Prioritising the well-being of employees is not only a sign of good leadership but also an investment in the overall success and effectiveness of the organisation.
