In response, the APC Chairman in Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, and the party's secretary in Kano, Alhaji Zakari Sarina, accused the Kano state government of orchestrating a plan to undermine Ganduje. They suggested that the revival of the Dollar video issue, which is currently in court and considered politically motivated, is an attempt to tarnish the former governor's reputation. They also alleged a similar scenario occurred in 2019 to hinder Ganduje's chances of securing the party's gubernatorial election ticket.
The statement released by the APC claimed that the current detractors aim to create a divide between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ganduje, who is known as one of the president's strongest allies in the North. While acknowledging Ganduje's valuable contributions to the Tinubu political project, particularly during the primary election, the APC emphasised that his relationship with the President remains cordial.
Rimingado, the executive chairman of the anti-graft commission, warned that if Ganduje fails to appear as requested, the agency will follow the appropriate legal procedures. He emphasised that the law is coercive in nature and does not engage in persuasion but rather compels obedience.
The outcome of this ongoing dispute between the APC, the anti-corruption commission, and Ganduje remains uncertain, as the former governor deliberates on whether to heed the commission's invitation.
