Katsina Governor Proposes Bills to Boost Security, Development
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has taken significant steps towards advancing the development of the state by forwarding executive bills to the state's assembly.

These bills aim to establish three parastatals and amend the revenue administration law.

The governor's chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, made this announcement in a statement on Friday, highlighting the governor's unwavering commitment to the state's progress and growth.

The proposed bills are designed to address crucial aspects of the state's governance, including security, development management, land administration, and revenue generation.

Governor Radda emphasised the importance of expeditiously considering these bills, aligning with the aspirations of the people for a brighter and more secure future.

Stakeholders from various sectors have expressed their support for the governor's proposals.

Community leaders, industry experts, and citizens have recognised the positive impact these initiatives can have on Katsina State's socio-economic landscape.

One of the key bills is aimed at establishing the Katsina Community Watch Corps, intended to enhance the security and safety of communities throughout the state.

This watch corps will work collaboratively with security agencies to combat crime and ensure peace and stability.

Another bill seeks to create the Katsina Development Management Board, with a primary focus on promoting efficient development planning and implementation.

This board will play a crucial role in coordinating developmental projects and fostering collaboration among stakeholders, ensuring optimal resource allocation for sustainable growth.

The third bill proposes the establishment of the Katsina State Geographic Information System (KATGIS) to modernise land administration and attract investment in real estate.

KATGIS will introduce an efficient and digitised land information system, streamlining land ownership processes and encouraging responsible land use.

In addition to these measures, the governor also sought to amend the Katsina State Revenue Administration (Codification and Consolidation 2021).

This amendment aims to strengthen the financial framework of the state and ensure transparent and effective revenue administration. The bill seeks to enhance revenue collection systems, optimise tax compliance, and improve accountability in financial matters.

The proposed bills come at a critical time when Katsina State is striving for growth and development. Governor Radda's proactive approach to governance and his dedication to addressing various challenges facing the state demonstrate his commitment to creating a conducive environment for progress and prosperity.

As these bills move through the state's assembly, stakeholders are hopeful that they will contribute significantly to the state's development and improve the well-being of its citizens.
