The withdrawal of these students was based on the report of the Academic Board Central Result Verification Committee, which was discussed and considered during a meeting held on the 22nd of June, 2023. The affected students come from seventeen different departments and twenty-eight programs offered by the institution.
Among the programs, ND1 Office Technology and Management had the highest number of withdrawn students, with 43 students being affected. This was followed by ND1 Public Administration with 39 withdrawn students, and ND1 Information and Library Science with 28 withdrawn students.
Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman, the Rector of the Polytechnic and the chairperson of the Board explained that the decision to withdraw these students was made in order to maintain high academic standards and cultivate worthy academic ambassadors. He emphasised the importance of students utilising the available facilities for learning to excel in their chosen courses.
Furthermore, the Rector urged the students to abide by the institution's rules and regulations, both on and off campus. He emphasised the need for them to avoid engaging in any social vices that could hinder their academic progress.
Dr Usman expressed his gratitude to the Chairman and members of the Central Result Verification Committee, as well as the entire Academic Board, for their ongoing support and commitment to upholding academic standards at the institution.
The withdrawal of these students serves as a reminder of the importance of academic excellence and the need for students to take their studies seriously.
