Kwara's Outgoing REC Urges Integrity and Honesty
Attahiru Madami, the outgoing Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kwara, emphasised the importance of integrity and honesty among the commission's staff.

During his handing-over ceremony at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Ilorin, he urged the workers not to compromise their principles and warned against accepting bribes from politicians, emphasising that such actions could lead to jail time.

Mr Madami expressed confidence that Kwara would continue to experience peaceful elections if the legacy of integrity and teamwork that he instilled persisted.

He highlighted the challenging nature of the INEC job but stressed that being open, trustworthy, and having integrity would make the task much easier.

He called on the staff to support the new REC coming to the state and emphasised the importance of cooperation for successful electoral processes.

Acknowledging the team's efforts and dedication during his tenure, Mr Madami thanked them for their support and predicted that the next eight years of elections in Kwara would remain peaceful.

The new Administrative Secretary, Shehu Menyanga, praised Mr Madami's leadership qualities and wished him well in his future endeavours. Additionally, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, the head of the unit of public affairs and protocol, described the outgoing REC as a good leader.

With the departure of Attahiru Madami, the commission will undoubtedly look to uphold the principles of integrity and honesty in its future endeavours.
