Police Service Commission dismisses officers for misconduct
The Police Service Commission has announced the dismissal of three senior police officers due to misconduct and abuse of office. In addition, nine other officers have been demoted, including a Commissioner of Police.

The decisions were made during the 21st Plenary Meeting of the Commission, presided over by Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi, who stood in for the Commission's Chairman, Dr. Solomon Arase. Dr. Arase emphasized that the disciplinary actions were taken to uphold the integrity of the police force and ensure the career progression of deserving officers.

Furthermore, the meeting approved the compulsory retirement of an Assistant Commissioner and directed the refund of wrongly paid entitlements. A posthumous promotion was granted to the late Inspector Ifeanyi Oroke for acts of gallantry, promoting him to the rank of ASP 11.

The meeting also reinstated Inspector Augustina Oko, effective from the date of her dismissal. Severe reprimands were issued to 16 officers, while another 18 officers received reprimands. Additionally, two officers were issued letters of warning.

The Commission also addressed previous appeals, approving the adjustment of the promotion date for ACP Woke Iheanyi Kingsley and the reinstatement of CSP Anaele Samuel Onuoha in compliance with a court judgment.

The Police Service Commission remains committed to upholding discipline and accountability within the Nigerian Police Force, ensuring that officers are held to the highest standards of professionalism and conduct.
