This suggestion comes amidst speculations that President Tinubu might endorse former Kano governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for the position. However, Primate Ayodele emphasized the significance of choosing Al-Makura, as his chairmanship would be less likely to plunge the party into turmoil.
Primate Ayodele highlighted that he had previously warned the party against electing Abdullahi Adamu as chairman, recommending Al-Makura for the position instead. Regrettably, the party did not heed his advice, resulting in the crisis that occurred during Adamu's tenure.
In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the prophet urged the APC to seize this opportunity for redemption by selecting Al-Makura as the next chairman. He warned that if they failed to heed his counsel, they might face even greater repercussions.
"The best person to become the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is Senator Tanko Al-Makura. If Ganduje or any other person gets the position, the party will be rocked with a crisis bigger than what it is facing now," Primate Ayodele stated.
He emphasized that Al-Makura's leadership could pave the way for the party's progress, urging the APC to consider his recommendation seriously. The prophet reiterated that he had previously foreseen the consequences of disregarding Al-Makura as a candidate for the chairmanship.
"This is another opportunity for redemption. If they like they should listen, and if they don't, it's their problem, but the message I have for them is that Tanko Al-Makura is the best person they can pick," Primate Ayodele concluded.
