- Mohammad Alkali (North-East, Borno), who was reappointed as managing director.
- Musa Yashi, executive director of humanitarian affairs (North-East, Bauchi).
- Ahmed Yahaya, executive director of operations (North-East, Gombe).
- Abubakar Iliya, executive director for administration and finance (North-East, Yobe).
Before their approval, Mr Paul Tarfa, the reappointed NEDC chairman designate, assured the board that he would continue to work to carry out its mandate in compliance with the law that created the commission.
The managing director of NEDC, Mohammad Alkali, mentioned that the board had initiated and continued work on projects in various sectors, including education, health, and agriculture, among others, in the North-East states. He expressed appreciation for the federal government's support and dedication to the commission's initiatives. However, he highlighted the challenge of obtaining financing for the projects.
Sen. Abdul Ningi (PDP-Bauchi) informed that the North-East Senate Caucus would collaborate with the NEDC board to oversee the successful execution of the projects.
Senate President Ahmed Lawan (APC-Yobe) praised President Bola Tinubu for the nominations and emphasized that the NEDC was established to cater to the welfare of the citizens in the North-East region. However, he cautioned against duplication of projects and advised coordination with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management to avoid overlapping efforts.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio encouraged the board to actively involve state governments and other stakeholders in the implementation of projects and initiatives for the benefit of the people in the North-East.
