Tinubu Appoints New Team for Nigeria Customs
President Bola Tinubu has taken a significant step in restructuring the Nigeria Customs Service by appointing a new management team. This move comes a few weeks after the appointment of Adewale Adeniyi as the acting Comptroller General of Customs and the retirement of some management members of the service.

The appointment announcement, signed by Abdullahi Maiwada, the National Public Relations Officer of the service, reveals the inclusion of three Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs) and three Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs) in the new management team.

In the statement, Adewale Adeniyi expresses gratitude to the retired management members for their commendable service and extends congratulations to the newly appointed officers. He calls upon them to intensify their efforts in fulfilling the service's core mandates, which encompass revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and facilitation of trade.

The appointed officers, who will play crucial roles in shaping the future direction of the Nigeria Customs Service, are as follows: Deputy Comptroller Generals - FO Okun, MBA Musa, and A Hamisu; and Assistant Comptroller Generals - K Olumoh, AB Mohammed, and A Alajogun.

President Tinubu's appointment of a fresh management team is likely to bring about strategic changes and reinforce the service's commitment to effectively carry out its responsibilities. As the new officers assume their roles, expectations are high for the Customs Service to achieve greater heights in enforcing customs regulations, enhancing revenue collection, and ensuring the smooth facilitation of trade activities across the nation's borders.

The appointed officers will face challenges and opportunities in their pursuit of improved performance and efficiency. Their ability to effectively collaborate and lead the Nigeria Customs Service in line with President Tinubu's vision will be critical in achieving positive outcomes for the service and contributing to the nation's economic growth and security.

As the newly appointed officers take on their responsibilities, the spotlight will be on them to demonstrate their commitment to upholding the values of integrity, transparency, and accountability while serving the Nigerian people and contributing to the overall development and progress of the country's customs administration.
