Speaking at a reception organised in his honour by APC members in Osogbo, Basiru highlighted the significant progress achieved in just two months since the subsidy was lifted, resulting in approximately N2 trillion in savings.
During the event, Basiru urged Nigerians to stand together and support the Federal Government's efforts in elevating the nation to a higher level.
He called upon party members in the state to remain steadfast in their commitment to the progress of the APC.
He acknowledged the contributions of loyal supporters during the last general elections, noting that the party achieved remarkable success, securing over 113,000 votes in Osun Central Senatorial District.
Basiru also applauded President Bola Tinubu's victory in Osun Central Senatorial district, overcoming challenges such as intimidation and harassment orchestrated by opposition forces.
The senator highlighted the resilience and determination of the party's supporters, which ultimately led to significant triumphs.
Addressing the audience, Mr Ade Adetimeyin, the Chairman of Ondo State APC, stressed the importance of unity within the party and urged members to collaborate tirelessly for its progress.
Speaking on behalf of South-West APC Chairmen, Adetimeyin commended Basiru's leadership credentials and his potential to steer the party toward greater achievements.
