Plateau Assembly, JED Collaborate for University Electricity
Members of the Plateau State Assembly have joined hands with the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JED) to bring electricity to Plateau State University in Bokkos Local Government Area.

The initiative, led by Majority Leader Hon. Maren Ishsku and Minority Chief Whip Hon. Gabriel Dewan, both alumni of the university, aims to provide a much-needed electricity supply to the university and its surrounding areas.

In a recent development, the Assembly members, accompanied by JED's Managing Director Engr. Abdu Mohammed, visited the university to kickstart the process. The extension of electricity is not limited to Bokkos LGA; it aims to cover a broader area, reaching Southern Plateau.

Engr. Abdu Mohammed expressed his commitment to the project, highlighting the importance of the initiative for the community. He emphasized the need for cooperation from the community to protect the electricity installations and to ensure responsible energy consumption.

In response, the Vice Chancellor of the university, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration Assoc. Prof. Jurji Gomos expressed gratitude to the Assembly members and JED for addressing the pressing issue of electricity shortage that the university has been facing.

The Assembly members reiterated their commitment to improving the lives of their constituents and invited the JED MD to witness firsthand the challenges faced by the community due to electricity shortages.

This partnership is a positive step towards addressing the electricity needs of the university and its surrounding areas, contributing to the overall development of the region.
