Wike Warns: Unauthorised Structures in Abuja Will Face Demolition
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has returned to work and issued a stern warning to property owners who are disrupting the master plan of Abuja.

During a press conference held in Abuja on Monday, immediately after his swearing-in ceremony at the State House, Wike stated, "All those people who are distorting the master plan of Abuja, too bad. If you know you have built where you’re not supposed to build, it will go down."

He emphasised that individuals who have constructed buildings in unauthorised locations, regardless of their positions as ministers or ambassadors, will face the consequences of their actions.

The minister also extended his warning to landowners who have encroached upon "green areas" to develop properties, stating that such areas must be reclaimed.

Wike emphasised the importance of preserving green spaces and parks, stating, "If you hate green, you must hate yourself. So, if you know you have anybody involved that has taken over the green areas or has taken over the parks to where you now do restaurants, no, we will not accept that. Sorry."

Wike's determination to enforce the master plan and maintain the city's aesthetics was evident in his firm stance on rectifying deviations from the original urban design.
