63rd Independence: Atiku Urges Nigerians to Work Toward a Better Future
Nigeria celebrated its 63rd Independence Day anniversary, and former Vice President and 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, used the occasion to urge Nigerians to work together to overcome the challenges facing the country.

In a message marking the anniversary, Atiku reflected on Nigeria's journey since gaining political independence 63 years ago. He noted that at the time of independence, Nigeria was full of hope and promise, with the vision of abundant prosperity and social justice.

However, Atiku acknowledged that Nigeria has faced significant challenges over the years, including economic hardships and security issues. Despite these challenges, he emphasised the importance of democracy in the country and the need for political leadership that upholds the principles of shared prosperity and social justice.

"Atiku declared, 'As a nation, we have continued to struggle to manifest the dreams of our founding fathers in upholding the promises of shared prosperity and social justice,'" the statement read.

He also highlighted the achievements of Nigerians in various fields, including sports, academia, and music, on the global stage.

"As Nigerians, we are all not unfamiliar with the hardships in the economy, security, and other vital aspects of our society," Atiku said. "While I enjoin us all to submit our strengths in faith to the Almighty God, we must be prepared to do our best to pull the country back from this point of uncertainty to a place of common safety."

As Nigeria faces a range of complex issues, including economic struggles, security concerns, and political challenges, Atiku's message encourages citizens to come together and actively contribute to the nation's progress and prosperity.
