This announcement was made during a recent visit to the NEPC coordinating office by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Oloruntoyosi Thomas.
The commissioner emphasised the state government's readiness to collaborate with various agencies to promote agricultural exports, focusing on crops with comparative advantages.
Kwara State has outlined a series of programs aligned with its agricultural transformation plan to enable farmers to access international markets by meeting global standards.
In response, the NEPC State Coordinator, Sherifat Musa, expressed the council's commitment to collaborating with the state government to boost the export of agricultural commodities, particularly non-oil products. Musa also highlighted the NEPC's dedication to exploring Kwara State's agricultural potential.
Additionally, the Executive Director of the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Lateef Sanni, commended the Kwara government for its significant investments in agriculture and collaboration with donor agencies.
Sanni assured the commissioner of the institute's support and strong partnership in various agricultural initiatives, including training workshops, value addition, knowledge sharing, agribusiness, product packaging, and branding.
