Youths in Ibadan Demand Justice for Late Singer Mohbad
A peaceful protest organized by youths took place in Ibadan, where they demanded justice for the late 27-year-old singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The protesters, dressed in black attire and carrying placards with inscriptions such as "Justice for Mohbad," began their rally in Mokola and marched through several locations in the city.

The protest route included Sango, Bodija, Iwo Road, Gate; Dugbe, Ring Road; Apata, Iyaganku, and eventually concluded at the Oyo State Secretariat in Ibadan.

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin, and the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Adegoke Wasilat, also participated in the rally, both donning black T-shirts.

Speaker Ogundoyin addressed the protesters at different points along their route and commended their peaceful efforts to demand justice for Mohbad.

He expressed sorrow and shock over the young singer's untimely death, describing Mohbad as a talented and inspired musician known for his lyrical and melodious songs.

The Speaker called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad's death, emphasizing the need to uncover the cause and those responsible. He questioned why the police had not taken action despite a petition from Mohbad reporting threats to his life.

Ogundoyin highlighted video evidence showing Mohbad being assaulted and harassed, yet no arrests or prosecutions were made at that time.

He also mentioned audio recordings in which the late singer expressed his distressing situation, urging security agencies to protect him, but no action was taken.

The Speaker concluded that Mohbad's death was tragic and condemnable, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive investigation.

One of the protest organizers, Kunle Eniafe, expressed his dismay at Mohbad's passing and called on the police to swiftly identify those responsible for the musician's death. He pledged that Nigerian youths would continue to hold protests nationwide until justice prevailed.
