Fire Razes Part of NTA Sokoto Office
A fire outbreak has destroyed part of the operational building of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Sokoto network centre on Sunday.

According to a post by the authority on its X handle, the fire started around 9 a.m. and lasted for more than three hours before it was put out by the combined efforts of staff and fire fighters.

“The fire that gutted parts of operational building of NTA Sokoto network centre has been put out by the combined efforts of staff and intervention of fire fighters,” the post read in part.

The post also stated that the fire did not affect the studio, equipment and other sensitive operational areas of the station.

Preliminary investigation by engineers reportedly revealed that fire might have been as a result of high electricity voltage. The OB Van, equipment and office furniture have also been saved from the inferno.

The NTA Sokoto network centre is one of the oldest and largest stations of the national television broadcaster in the country.

The fire incident has drawn sympathy and solidarity messages from various stakeholders and members of the public, who commended the staff and fire fighters for their swift response and bravery.

The authority assured its viewers and partners that the fire incident would not affect its operations and services, as it has taken measures to restore normalcy and prevent future occurrences.
