This was disclosed by Mr Demola Bakare, the ICPC's Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner in Osun State, during a press conference in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, on the occasion of the 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day.
He explained that these projects were constituency initiatives of federal legislators from the state. He further added that contractors who had delivered substandard work were instructed to return to their sites to improve the quality of their work, ensuring that the public received value for the funds expended.
Internationally, December 9 is recognised as International Anti-Corruption Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about corruption and the strategies to combat it.
Bakare emphasised that this day is observed to encourage global action against corruption. He reaffirmed the ICPC's commitment to bringing corrupt individuals in Nigeria to justice.
The theme for this year's observance was ‘Uniting the World Against Corruption for Development, Peace and Security’.
Bakare appealed to the media to support the ICPC in its mission to eradicate corruption, particularly through public education and awareness campaigns.
