Israeli Forces Launch Night Attacks on Gaza Strip

In a series of overnight operations, Israeli forces launched renewed attacks across the Gaza Strip on Sunday.

This development comes as the United Nations Security Council is poised to vote on a resolution demanding that Israel and Hamas permit aid access to the Palestinian enclave.

A spokesperson for Gaza's health ministry informed Reuters that an Israeli strike on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza resulted in the death of 90 individuals on Sunday.

Additionally, Hamas Aqsa radio reported that a separate missile attack on a house belonging to the Shehab family claimed the lives of 24 people.

A medical professional revealed that numerous individuals had been killed or injured in the Shehab family home and adjacent buildings. He stated over the phone on Sunday, “We believe the number of dead people under the rubble is huge but there is no way to remove the rubble and recover them because of the intensity of Israeli fire.”

In Deir al-Balah, located in central Gaza, medics reported that 12 Palestinians had been killed and dozens injured, while an Israeli air strike on a house in Rafah resulted in at least four fatalities. Locals rushed to the building in an attempt to rescue those trapped beneath the rubble.

Mahmoud Jarbou, a nearby resident, described the sound of the explosion to Reuters as being “as powerful as an earthquake.”

The Israeli government stated that it targeted militant sites and took extraordinary measures to avoid civilian casualties.

Ashraf Al-Qidra, a spokesman for the Gaza health ministry, reported that an Israeli tank shell struck the maternity building inside the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, resulting in the death of a 13-year-old girl named Dina Abu Mehsen. Al-Qidra further revealed that Abu Mehsen had previously lost her father, mother, two siblings, and one of her legs during the shelling of a house in the Al-Amal neighbourhood in Khan Younis a few weeks prior.
