Peter Obi Congratulates Osimhen, Oshoala on CAF Awards Win
Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 general elections, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigerian footballers Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala.

Both players were honoured as CAF’s Men and Women Footballer of the Year, respectively, at an event held on Monday night in Morocco.

As reported by Prime 9ja Online, Osimhen was recognised as CAF’s Men Footballer of the Year, while Oshoala secured her sixth award.

Reacting to this news on Tuesday morning, Obi expressed his pride in both the Napoli and Barcelona attackers via a tweet from his official Twitter handle.

He said, “I like to join all other sports lovers in the country to sincerely congratulate the Nigeria duo of @victorosimhen9 and @AsisatOshoala for emerging African Players of the Year, in the Men and Women categories respectively this year.”

Obi went on to express his admiration for their awards, which he believes are a testament to their innate talents, their passion for growth, and their determination to succeed.

He further expressed his hope that every Nigerian youth will have the necessary opportunities to explore and develop their talents and skills and live to fulfil their dreams. By doing so, they can contribute to the development of the nation. He believes that these aspirations are achievable in the New Nigeria that we are all looking forward to.
