Aisha Yesufu Reacts to Clerics' End Times Claims

In the face of escalating economic hardship and hunger in Nigeria, social critic and human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, has voiced her belief that politicians would resort to deploying clerics to confuse Nigerians.

Yesufu's comments were in response to a statement made by Reverend Joshua Talena, a cleric and Senior Pastor of the Shepherd House Assembly International in Abuja. Reverend Talena, during a Sunday service, emphasised that the current global unrest signals the approaching end times. He pointed to scriptures that foretold of widespread unrest, wickedness, hunger, and other evils in the final days.

Furthermore, Reverend Talena highlighted the insecurity in certain regions of the country as evidence of the end times, urging congregants not to lose hope amidst these challenging circumstances.

However, Yesufu expressed her anticipation of such a development, stating, “I knew they will soon deploy the clerics!" She referred to a prophecy from the Prophet (SAW) that signs of the last days would include everyone being so affluent that finding someone to give Zakkah to would become a challenge.
