Chorister Murdered in Edo Church: Police Launch Investigation

In a shocking incident, a chorister, identified as Success, was reportedly killed by hoodlums suspected to be cultists at Christ's Chosen Church of God in Edo State. The tragic event occurred during a church service in Benin City.

According to reports, the hoodlums stormed the church, located off Murtala Muhammed Way in Benin City, called out the victim who was already at the church, and brutally attacked him. Witnesses reported that after shooting the victim, the hoodlums also attacked him with a machete, took his phone, and fled the scene, leaving the church members in a state of shock and helplessness.

A police officer in the area, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the killing. He stated that the hoodlums stormed the church during the service, dragged the victim out, and shot him dead inside the premises before fleeing the scene.

The spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, also confirmed the incident. He said, “Yes, it is confirmed and investigations are on to arrest the perpetrators.” This tragic incident underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures in public places, including places of worship.
