A commercial vehicle belonging to the Katsina State Transport Authority (KTSTA) was hijacked by bandits, resulting in the abduction of some passengers. The incident occurred in Katsina State around 12:00 pm on Thursday.
The vehicle was en route from Funtua to Katsina when the hijacking took place between Burdugau and Yargoje villages along the Kankara road in Kankara Local Government Area, according to a KTSTA employee who wished to remain unnamed.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the police spokesman in Katsina, confirmed the incident. He reported that eight passengers were kidnapped from the bus, but the police were able to rescue four of them. He stated, “We are on top of the matter. Our men have rescued a male and three female victims, and we are still on the trail of the bandits to rescue the remaining four.”
