Nollywood Actor Among Kidnap Gang Neutralized by Lagos Police

Popular Port Harcourt-based Nollywood actor and producer, identified as Prince Henry Ode, has been confirmed to be among nine kidnappers neutralized by the Lagos State Police Command during a kidnapping operation in the Ladipo area of the state.

The revelation comes amidst initial skepticism surrounding the reports. However, investigations by detectives from the Commissioner of Police's Special Squad have confirmed Ode's involvement.

Following the online buzz, detectives launched discreet electronic and intelligence investigations to identify the nine kidnappers who confronted them at the popular Ladipo auto spare parts market. The kidnappers were reportedly targeting a wealthy businessman.

Police recovered four mobile phones and other vital items from the pockets of the deceased kidnappers, leading to further investigations.

A shocking discovery was that the two Lexus Jeeps used by the kidnappers were registered in Ode's name. Similarly, two mobile phones used for their operations were also registered under his name, but with pictures of unidentified young men and fake addresses.

Detectives are working to identify the remaining gang members. One breakthrough involves a twin brother of one of the slain kidnappers, who has since fled his Lagos residence.

A social media user who recognized some of the deceased kidnappers provided a crucial lead. The user identified two of the kidnappers as frequent patrons of a local bar, even providing pictures of them from a recent birthday celebration.

Another fleeing gang member has been traced to a northern city, and efforts are underway to apprehend him. Police have also identified and are monitoring another hangout frequented by the gang.

The owner of a popular beer parlor frequented by the kidnappers is currently in police custody, providing valuable information.

Investigations revealed that the gang used military camouflage uniforms to evade police detection at checkpoints. These uniforms were recovered from their vehicles after the encounter.

The Ladipo market executive members commended the Lagos State Police Commissioner for the successful operation and pledged their cooperation in maintaining security within the market.

Hoteliers and businessmen in the area have also reported a surge in business activity since the takedown of the kidnapping gang, attributing it to increased confidence and security.
