The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended 52 individuals for alleged violent conduct during the #EndBadGovernance protest, which began on Thursday. Commissioner of Police Auwal Musa Mohammed confirmed the arrests, stating that the protesters engaged in breaches of public order and unlawful assembly without obtaining necessary police permits.
Mohammed revealed that 50 protesters, including women, were arrested in the state capital for their involvement in the 'End Bad Governance Protest.' He noted that the protesters became unruly, engaging in theft and property destruction, and injured a police officer.
The Commissioner stated, "Fifty-two protesters were arrested for being violent and unruly. They attempted to disturb public peace, which was not in accordance with our arrangement." He added that the police acted professionally, maintaining law and order without causing harm, despite protesters using women and children as shields.
