Coalition Crucial to Defeating Tinubu in 2027 - Primate Ayodele

As Nigeria's 2027 general elections draw near, Primate Elijah Ayodele, spiritual head of the Inri Evangelical Church, has counselled the opposition to form a united front to oust President Bola Tinubu. Ayodele, in a recent social media post, emphasized the need for a coalition, stating, "Only a united opposition can defeat the APC in 2027."

Ayodele warned that Tinubu would not relinquish power without a fight, saying, "Tinubu is prepared to battle for his seat." He further stressed the need for a revised strategy to ensure a credible election in 2027.

This advice comes amidst reports of a possible alliance between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Governor Peter Obi, who contested the presidency in 2023. The federal government has downplayed the significance of such an alliance, but Ayodele's words suggest a united opposition is crucial to defeating the APC.

Atiku has hinted at a possible merger between the PDP and LP, saying, "A merger is possible, and we won't let the choice of candidate hinder it." Obi and Atiku have held private meetings, fueling speculation about a potential coalition.
