A devastating multiple road crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has claimed the lives of four individuals, with one person injured.
The incident occurred around 7:35 p.m. on Thursday near Kara Bridge, involving four vehicles: an Isuzu mini truck, a Toyota Camry, a Honda Accord, and a BUA trailer.
Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun Sector Command, confirmed the incident, attributing the cause to brake failure, which led to a loss of control and a subsequent collision.
"The crash occurred at about 19:35 hours... involving four vehicles. One person was injured, while four persons were reported dead," Okpe stated.
The injured victim was rushed to AZ Zonecare Hospital, Magboro, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to Real Divine Hospital morgue in Ibafo and claimed by their families. Sector Commander Akinwumi Fasakin expressed condolences to the bereaved families and urged motorists to avoid speeding, ensure regular vehicle checks, and address defects promptly.
