Peter Obi, Labour Party's presidential candidate, has urged authorities to take immediate action against individuals promoting genocidal threats against the Igbo community in Lagos. Obi described these threats as "deeply disturbing" and called for investigation, arrest, and prosecution to serve as a deterrent.
Obi emphasized that such rhetoric threatens national unity and contradicts the Constitution, which guarantees Nigerians the right to live and work freely anywhere. He urged those in authority to speak out against divisive rhetoric and ensure the protection of Nigerians from discrimination and persecution.
The former Anambra State governor cautioned against allowing present challenges to create divisions, stressing the importance of living and working together harmoniously for a united future.
