Iran announces truce, ends 12-day war with Israel

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday announced the end of the 12-day conflict with Israel, declaring a truce in a nationally televised message broadcast by the state-run IRNA news agency.

“Today, following the heroic resistance of our great nation — whose unwavering resolve has shaped history — we are witnessing the establishment of a ceasefire and the conclusion of this 12-day war, which was triggered by Israeli provocation and adventurism,” Pezeshkian stated.

The conflict, which erupted on June 13, saw intense military exchanges between the two nations. Israel has maintained that its actions were aimed at halting Iran’s alleged pursuit of nuclear weapons — a claim Tehran has consistently denied.
