A House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Paul Johnson Aagasi, has donated operational assets to security agencies in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.
The presentation took place at the Nigeria Police Force Area Command in Igarra, drawing party executives and stakeholders from across the council area. The donation included motorcycles, a vehicle and vehicle tyres intended to enhance mobility for personnel engaged in safeguarding communities.
Addressing attendees at the ceremony, Aagasi said his intervention reflected a personal commitment to strengthening local security structures.
“I believe that my people need to be secured and the only way I can contribute my own quota for the security of my people is for me to provide these bikes and the vehicle and the tires for the security personnel,” he stated.
He commended security operatives for what he described as sustained efforts to protect lives and property within the locality. He also acknowledged the role of the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in supporting security initiatives across the state.
The APC Chairman in Akoko Edo Local Government Area, Honourable Din Monday, described the donation as consistent with Aagasi’s record of engagement in the area. “My brother here is very dynamic in this dance,” he said, while noting the aspirant’s continued involvement in community development matters.
On behalf of the security agencies, the Area Commander, Agara Oko Chaz, expressed appreciation for the support, stating that additional operational tools would assist officers in carrying out their responsibilities more effectively.
Earlier in the day, senior political figures within the local government convened a strategic session to discuss mobilisation plans ahead of the party’s forthcoming primaries. During that meeting, Aagasi sought their backing to secure the APC ticket for the Akoko Edo Federal Constituency.
He assured party leaders of his readiness to collaborate across tendencies within the party if nominated, emphasising collective responsibility for party cohesion and electoral success.
