The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has alleged that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,000 Americans over the past 47 years, as military operations between Washington and Tehran intensify.
In a statement released on Sunday via its official X account, the command also asserted that recent United States strikes had dismantled the operational headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
“The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) killed more than 1,000 Americans over the past 47 years,” CENTCOM wrote on X.
“Yesterday, a large-scale U.S. strike cut off the head of the snake. America has the most powerful military on earth, and the IRGC no longer has a headquarters.”
The remarks followed confirmation from US defence authorities that ongoing operations have targeted more than 1,000 sites across Iran. Officials indicated that the objectives included command and control facilities, ballistic missile installations, naval assets such as ships and submarines, and communication infrastructure linked to military coordination.
The updated figures emerged hours after the Israeli military disclosed details of its own renewed strikes against Iranian positions on Sunday, signalling continued coordination between Washington and Tel Aviv in the expanding campaign.
Iranian authorities have yet to provide a comprehensive assessment of the impact of the reported strikes, including the claim that the IRGC’s central command structure has been neutralised.
