The Kogi State Security Trust Fund has handed over patrol vehicles to several security agencies operating in the state as part of efforts aimed at improving operational capacity and strengthening responses to security threats.
The presentation took place on Wednesday in Lokoja, where officials of the trust fund formally delivered the vehicles to representatives of the beneficiary agencies.
Among the security institutions that received the vehicles were the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the trust fund, Omeiza Umar, said the initiative forms part of the organisation’s ongoing support for security institutions tasked with maintaining law and order across the state.
Umar stated that the provision of operational equipment remains essential for security agencies seeking to address criminal activity and protect residents.
He noted that improved mobility plays a critical role in modern security operations, adding that the vehicles would expand patrol coverage, enable quicker responses to emergency calls and promote better coordination among security services working within the state.
The chairman urged the beneficiary agencies to ensure that the vehicles are properly managed and used strictly for official duties.
According to him, the intervention aligns with the broader objective of the trust fund to support government initiatives aimed at maintaining safety and stability for communities and businesses across Kogi State.
Umar also acknowledged the contributions and commitment of security personnel serving in different parts of the state, stating that their efforts remain vital to sustaining public safety.
He further expressed appreciation to the state government, corporate organisations and individuals whose financial support has enabled the trust fund to provide assistance to security institutions.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiary agencies, the state Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Olumide Aletan, thanked the trust fund for the support.
Aletan described the provision of the vehicles as timely and said the agencies would deploy them for operational duties aimed at strengthening security coverage and protecting communities across the state.
