Nigerian singer Davido and American gospel musician Kirk Franklin have taken their collaboration, Hope In You, to From The Block following its release on Franklin’s double album, I Am What I Am.
The music platform published a performance featuring both artistes through its 4 Shooters Only channel. The session presents the song separately from the studio recording available on the album.
Announcing the performance on Instagram, the platform wrote: “@kirkfranklin x @davido Came Through The Block With ‘Hope In You’ @fromtheblockperformance Out Now!”
Franklin released the album on 30 October 2026. Hope In You, which runs for three minutes and 27 seconds, places Davido’s Afrobeats contribution within the gospel musician’s studio set.
The collaboration occupies the third position on the studio disc. Franklin divided the 14-track project equally between seven studio recordings and seven live performances, giving each format a separate section of the release.

The Apple Music catalogue credits Fo Yo Soul Recordings and TRIBL Music Group, under an exclusive licence to Uptown Records, a division of UMG Recordings. The 14-song edition runs for approximately one hour and eight minutes.
Davido and Franklin had previewed the song before the album reached streaming platforms. According to Voice of Nigeria’s account, they presented it at an album listening event in Atlanta on 12 October. The broadcaster reported that Davido performed his verse and joined the choir during the presentation.

Davido is one of four guest artistes on the studio disc. Jelly Roll appears on its opening track, Free Me Tonight, while GloRilla joins Franklin on This Time. Tobe Nwigwe contributes to It Gets Better, which follows Hope In You in the running order.
Franklin completes that section with Able, Do It Again and Stay. The studio recordings draw on Afrobeats, hip-hop and R&B alongside gospel, according to the album’s release announcement, which identifies Hope In You as its focus track.
The live disc introduces two further collaborators. Karen Clark Sheard features on Thank You For Everything, while Tim Rogers appears on the closing song, Time. Other live recordings include Someday, It Is Well, Welcome In, Holy and Beautiful Thorns.
Thank You For Everything preceded the album as a single. Franklin performed it at the 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, and its video premiered on BET Her. I Am What I Am is his fourteenth full-length solo album, according to the release announcement.
