Nigerian striker Blessing Eleke was on for 30 minutes as Beerschot romped to a shock win away over champions Club Brugge in their Belgian Pro League clash on Sunday, Prime 9ja Online reports.

Brugge’s Super Eagles forward David Okereke came on in the 59th minute for Krepin Diatta, while Emmanuel Dennis was an unused substitute in the defeat.

It was Okereke’s second substitute appearance just as Eleke, who recently joined Beerschot from FC Luzern on a three-year contract.

Also in Belgium, Cyriel Dessers and Paul Onuachu, were handed starting roles for Genk, who were held to a goalless draw at Standard Liege.

Dessers was replaced by Luca Oyen four minutes from time in what was his third league start for the club, while Onuachu was in action for the entire duration of the game.

Both forwards have scored one goal each in three league outings this season.

In the Scottish Premier League, Efe Ambrose was an unused substitute for Livingston, who lost 2-0 away at Aberdeen. Ambrose has made three league appearances this season.

Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo expectedly missed Glasgow Rangers squad that defeated Kilmarnock 2-0 on Saturday.

In France, Henry Onyekuru was a second half substitute for Sofiane Diop in Monaco’s 2-2 draw against Stade Reims.

Moses Simon also made his first start of the season for Nantes, who drew goalless at Bordeaux, who featured Josh Maja and Samuel Kalu for 45 minutes and 15 minutes respectively.

Eagles defender Bryan Idowu was sent off for Khimki in their 2-1 home loss to FK Akhmat in the Russian Premier League on Saturday.

Idowu was sent off in the 76th minute after receiving his second yellow card. The defeat saw Khimki drop to 15th position on just one point in the 16-team league table.

Idowu has started all four league games for Khimki in the Russian Premier League since he joined the club on loan from Lokomotiv Moscow on August 7 for the 2020/2021 season.
