Shanquella Robinson beaten to death in Mexico

Salamondra and Bernard Robinson are both interested in knowing what happened to their daughter. On October 28, Shanquella Robinson, 25, and a few friends left for a trip to Cabo, Mexico. The following day, her body was discovered.

On Friday, November 11, Salamondra revealed to WBTV 3 in Charlotte, North Carolina, that she learned her daughter got alcohol poisoning while travelling in Mexico. The distraught mother explained, “[I] spoke with her Friday evening. She was having dinner, and I never spoke with her again”  She added,   “On Saturday evening, they called and said she wasn’t feeling well, and they were going to call a doctor. And when they called, the doctor hadn’t arrived yet, but they said she had alcohol poisoning.”  It has been stated that Shanquella’s pals abandoned her body on their holiday property and flew back to the United States.

“After they said it was alcohol poisoning, we received the autopsy report on Thursday, and it said that her neck had been broken and she had a back spasm. There was a crack, [her] spinal cord was cracked,” the family told WBTV. “That took it to a whole ‘nother level because that meant somebody had attacked her,” they added. The American embassy in Mexico is helping with the inquiry into the young woman’s death. “We are aware of these reports. Protecting the welfare of U.S. citizens overseas is among our top priorities. Out of respect for the privacy of those involved, we have no further comment at this time,” they stated.

Yesterday, a videotape of Robinson’s interview went viral on social media (November 15). Since then, a purported cellphone video of Shanquella being savagely assaulted by a companion in the bedroom of their Mexican vacation rental has gone viral online. There were at least two other persons there at the time of the incident, and one of them was overheard telling the victim to “fight back.” The Robinsons reportedly contacted the FBI office in Charlotte, as reported by WBTV.
