On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed a resolution calling for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Barrister Bolanle Raheem by a trigger-happy police officer on Christmas Day in Lagos.
The House also resolved to ensure the prosecution of the officers involved in order to achieve justice, as well as to prohibit security personnel from consuming alcohol while on duty.
In addition, the House observed a minute's silence in memory of the deceased.
The resolutions were passed after a motion sponsored by Hon. Babajide Obanikoro (APC, Lagos) was passed in plenary.
