The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has lost two of Governor Aminu Tambuwal's Special Assistants who have joined the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bashar Abubakar, special adviser to Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North), the party's governor-elect, made this announcement on Tuesday in Sokoto.
According to Abubakar, the Special Assistants were Alhaji Abdullahi Jabo of Tambuwal and Hajiya Hafsatu Tudun-Wada of Sokoto South Local Government Areas.
He said that Jabo and his supporters were greeted by the APC candidate for governor in the state, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, and his running mate, Alhaji Idris Gobir.
Abubakar pointed out that on a different occasion, Hajiya Fatima Aliyu, the governor candidate's wife, had greeted Hafsatu Tudun-Wada and her large following.
The APC recently hosted PDP members and stakeholders from the Sokoto North and Wamakko LGAs, according to Tambuwal's aide.
He said that the party has extended a warm welcome to the new members and that they will be treated on par with the party's stalwarts. They have also promised to back the APC in any way possible.
