Idowu Isamotu, a communications specialist and senior crime reporter with Daily Trust Newspaper, and five others were attacked by gunmen on the Lokoja-Obajana road in Kogi State, Prime 9ja Online gathered.

Prime 9ja Online learned exclusively that the attack occurred around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The assailants were described as "terrorists" in an SOS message sent to Prime9jaOnline.

"I was just shot by terrorists along the Lokoja-Obajana road," he said. "Only God could have saved us." I was in my personal vehicle. In the vehicle, there were four adults and two children."

They have been taken to the hospital as of the time of filling this report.

When contacted, the Kogi State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, said he would inform the police formations along the Lokoja-Obajana route.

Aya said, “I’m reaching out to all police formations along that road. The Lokoja-Obajana road is long, hence I need to contact the DPOs in the area concerning the situation report.”
