Fire has destroyed a section of the multibillion-naira Blue Rail Mass Transit project in Marina, Lagos State.
The section that houses the facility's generator was reportedly affected by the fire on Tuesday.
However, no one was killed or injured because the fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters from both the Federal and State fire stations before it could spread to other areas.
The incident was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.
"The fire at Marina started from the generator of the Blue Rail Mass Transit," he explained. Police patrol teams and the Fire Department have already arrived on the scene to control the crowd and put out the fire, respectively.
“People are urged to go about their lawful duties and not panic as the situation is under control.”
