Peter Obi, a candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has taken his campaign to market men and women ahead of the February 25th presidential election, which will take place in a fortnight.
To gather support, Mr. Obi is travelling to some markets in Lagos State. He went to Computer Village, where merchants gathered in large numbers to welcome him.
Some of them told Channels Television that they are behind him because he is aware of the tight spots and appears to be able to help.
The number of attendees at Ladipo Spare Parts Market in the state's Oshodi region is significantly higher than the attendance at Computer Village.
Unmistakable signs of excitement can be seen on the faces of the traders. Supporters of Obi block his progress through the market by claiming that their action is not in his immediate interest.
A variety of solidarity songs are chanted in an effort to convey the crowd's excitement about the former Anambra governor's visit.
