Police deploy senior officers, 5,000 personnel for Bayelsa election
In preparation for the upcoming presidential and National Assembly elections this Saturday, the Nigerian Police Force has deployed a Deputy Inspector General (DIG), an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), two Commissioners of Police, and approximately five thousand personnel to carry out the election duties.

At the election briefing for officers of the command on Friday, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of election duty in the state, Ameachi Elemulu, reiterated the police department’s steadfast commitment to neutrality and non-interference in the election process.

He further stressed that the police will be maintaining a high level of neutrality, both before and during the poll, to ensure that the election is conducted fairly and without any bias.

The police have also taken measures to ensure a secure environment on election day. This includes deploying police units to all polling units to monitor the situation and deter any potential violence or criminal activity.

The police are also working closely with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the elections are conducted in accordance with the law.
