Insp Innocent Odugbo’s prosecutor told the court that the offenses were committed on January 20, 2023, at the Idi-Iroko area, Anthony Village, Lagos. Sodiq, who resides at No. 25 Anobi St., Constain, Lagos, is facing a two-point charge of conspiracy and robbery.
During the hearing, the Magistrate, Mrs. M. F Onamusi, declined to take the defendant’s plea and ordered his remand in custody pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP). Onamusi, after that, adjourned the case until March 29 for mention.
The prosecutor stated that the offenses contravene Sections 296 and 299 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The accused must remain in custody until the DPP’s legal advice is obtained.
The incident reminds the public to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid falling victim to such crimes. It is also a reminder that the law will take its course, and those who engage in criminal activities will be brought to justice.
