In an expulsion letter signed by the State Executive Committee of the Delta APC, the party accused Omo-Agege of committing various offences and acts of anti-party activities that brought shame and ridicule to the party. The letter also stated that the party unanimously resolved to adopt the expulsion of Omo-Agege as a member of the party. The expulsion was in accordance with the provisions of Article 21.2 (1)(II)(VII) 21.3 and 21.5(g) of the constitution 2022 (as amended).
According to the letter, Omo-Agege was expelled for "gross misconduct" that affected the party in the just concluded elections. The letter also alleged that Omo-Agege deceived party members by not working hard in the state to garner votes for President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, rather than for himself. The Delta State APC stated that Omo-Agege brought shame and ridicule to the image of the party in the state.
Omo-Agege was the governorship candidate of the APC in Delta State, but he lost the election to Oborevwori. The expelled Senator scored 240,229 votes, 120,005 votes behind the governor-elect of the PDP, Oborevwori, who scored 360,234 votes.
The expulsion letter was signed by the chairman, Ulebor Isaac, on behalf of the State Executive Committee of the Delta APC and Secretary, Inana Michael, and 23 others. The letter stated that the Delta State APC unanimously resolved and adopted the expulsion of Omo-Agege as a member of the party by the executive committee of the Orogun ward and Ughelli North Local Government chapter.
The Delta APC urged its members to remain united and focused on the party's goals and objectives. The party also stated that it would soon fill the vacant positions created by the expulsion of Omo-Agege.
Omo-Agege has not responded to the expulsion letter as of the time of this report.
